Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
As we process feeling far from what typically feels normal…Missing our extended family and beloved friends…
We are choosing to focus on the beauty set before us.
As I am contemplating what is alive in my own heart…
I thought I would extend a little reminder offering to those swirling and possibly stressed by activity.
Enjoy the chaos…
You will never get these moments again!
These words are just as much for me and my family as they are for anyone else.
Feast…
Yes, on food of course…
But, attempt to end the day more stuffed with thanks than turkey and trimmings!
Speak intentionally…
Laugh intensely…
Love fiercely…
Play youthfully…
Use paper plates… oh how I miss paper plates!!!
Recount blessings…
Hold hands with those around you.
Give honor and celebrate those who are no longer seated alongside.
Skip the selfies and snap some real pictures with the real people right next to you.
After that… do yourself a favor and put your phone in a drawer and be present for the day.
Remember collectively, those who will go hungry physically, spiritually and emotionally hungry today and those whom have sacrificed so that you will not.
We all have so very much to be thankful for.
Savor your moments!
Please know we are so very encouraged by what God is up to in Costa Rica!
Not a minute goes by that we are not thankful for how our picture of family is growing.
We continue to be learners, and are beyond humbled that He would allow us to come and serve…
We deeply treasure our new relationships!
But, I am not going to lie, we so miss all of you!
We thank God for each and every one of you… and pray rich blessings over you.
May this Thanksgiving be marked with gratitude for all of us!
Enjoy your merry and memory making…
And if at all possible… eat some Chex mix for me, and try to avoid hurricanes and tropical storms. 😉
